'05 Isuzu Ascender

The 2005 Isuzu Ascender is an SUV that comes in a base version that has two rows, seats five passengers, and an extended-length version that has three rows and seats seven passengers. The seven-passenger model comes fitted with a six cylinder V8 engine and the five passenger model has a 4.2 litre six cylinder V6 engine with double overhead cam.

The two models have a four speed automatic transmission and can be had in either a rear wheel or four wheel drives. They are also fitted with antilock four wheel disc brakes. The 2005 Isuzu Ascender scored very well in crash tests for SUVs.

The 2005 Isuzu Ascender has its first two rows of seats protected with curtain side airbags. An optional feature is the inclusion of OnStar assistance. There is a fuel economy of 20 miles per gallon on highways and 15 miles per gallon in the city according to EPA estimates.

2005 Isuzu Ascender

The 2005 Isuzu Ascender is a mid-size to full-size sport utility vehicle from Japanese automaker Isuzu. The 2005 model year lineup saw a major improvement to the engine structure with the introduction of a brand new 5.3L V-8 engine sporting Displacement on Demand as well as the traditional 4.2L Inline-6 engine.

The 2005 Isuzu Ascender with the 4.2L Inline-6 engine is capable of producing 275HP and 275FTLB of torque with a Double-Over-Head-Camshaft design while the 5.3L V-8 engine produces 300HP and 330FTLB of torque.

The EPA has estimated the 4.2L Inline-6 engine to attain 15mpg around the city and over 20mpg on the highway while the 5.3L V-8 is rated at 15mpg around the city and 19mpg on the highway. Displacement On Demand allows drivers to shut off half of the cylinders to improve fuel economy.
